Denise Mosby-Lewis is a bright, optimistic, caring individual who subscribes to the “up close and personal
approach.” She is empathetic, humorous, non-judgmental and creates an atmosphere of safety for those she
serves. She has warm, compassionate, personality that makes people feel comfortable.
​
Ms. Lewis was born and raised in Detroit Michigan. She is the eldest girl (second born) of nine children. She has
over twenty years in the field of Human Services. She has served many at-risk populations such as: the homeless, substance abuse, domestic violence, abused/ neglected teens, and teen-parents. She has successfully interacted with and assisted individuals of every ethnicity and culture. Many have informed her that She was born to be a counselor!

Over the years, she has served with organizations in the city of Detroit, and within these agencies, she has
engaged individuals (especially women and girls) in at-risk populations.
​
In 2013, She authored her first book “Monsters Ain’t Always Ugly: A Mother Laments, and is currently writing
her second book. She is an associate faculty member at a Local Community College where she teaches
introduction to psychology part-time.
While her passion and “first love,” is domestic violence, she has addressed such issues as sexual assault, low-self-esteem, relationships, anger management, and inner healing through her bi-weekly podcast “Kicking It with
Neecie,” in conjunction with Connections2Life Ministries, (which she looks to re-launch soon). She has spoken in
several local churches and schools on volatile topics, (such as those stated above). She is a Licensed
Professional Counselor and an ordained minister.
